we need your help

Volunteer Opportunities

As of October 2025, we now have a physical location just outside of Missoula, MT, where we can help even more Floofs and advance our rescue's dreams.

With this new facility, we want to create a safe, lovely, and FUN place for our rescues to enjoy. We need your help to do this. We need volunteers to do playdates, walks, hikes, brushings, cleaning, everything that goes into having a physical location.

We also need people to help us get dogs safely to and from where they are located. There is so much opportunity, and we NEED YOU!

Ways to Help

Dog Enrichment

Our dogs thrive on connection, movement, and feeling loved. Dog Enrichment volunteers help provide walks, hikes, playtime, brushing, basic grooming, and even overnight stays when needed. These moments help our floofs decompress, build confidence, and prepare for life in a forever home.
Whether you’re up for a peaceful stroll, a mountain adventure, or a cozy evening brushing session, your time directly improves a dog’s quality of life. Bonus: you get fresh air, floofy hugs, and some of the best companionship Montana has to offer.

Facility Maintenance

A safe, clean, and welcoming facility is essential to the care of our dogs. Facility Maintenance volunteers help with cleaning, organizing, landscaping, fencing, repairs, and special projects that keep our space running smoothly and safely.

No special skills required—just a willingness to help and get a little dirty for a great cause. Every swept floor, repaired fence, and finished project helps create a calm, comfortable environment where our dogs can heal and thrive.

Transportation

Transportation volunteers are a vital link in our rescue work. From vet appointments and grooming visits to foster placements and adoption meetups, getting dogs safely from point A to point B makes everything possible.

If you have a reliable vehicle and a love for road trips (short or long), you can help save lives—sometimes literally. We match transport needs to your availability, and every mile you drive brings a dog closer to safety and home.

Fostering

Fosters open their hearts and homes to dogs who need a soft place to land. By providing temporary care, love, and structure, fosters help dogs decompress, learn routines, and show their true personalities outside of a kennel environment.

Fostering saves lives and frees up space so we can help even more dogs. Whether it’s for a few weeks or a few months, your home becomes a bridge between rescue and forever.

Sponsorship (Business Sponsors)

Local businesses can make a powerful impact by sponsoring one or more rescue dogs. Sponsorships help cover food, medical care, training, and daily needs while also giving businesses a meaningful way to support animal welfare in their community.

Sponsors are celebrated as part of each dog’s journey, creating a feel-good partnership that benefits both the dogs and the businesses that step up for them.

Home Visits

Home Visit volunteers help ensure our dogs are placed in safe, appropriate, and loving homes. These visits allow us to confirm that adopters’ environments are a good fit and provide guidance or support when needed.

This role is essential to setting our dogs—and adopters—up for long-term success. You’re helping protect the dog’s future and strengthen the adoption process with care and compassion.

Donation

Donations fuel everything we do—from medical care and food to facility upkeep and emergency rescues. Every dollar directly supports dogs who need safety, healing, and a second chance.

Whether it’s a one-time gift, monthly support, or in-kind donation, your generosity helps us continue saving floofy lives across Montana and beyond. Together, we make the rescue dreams possible.

Other Ways to Help

We want YOUR HELP! And, anyway that you are willing to, we will take. Rescues are a labor of love, and the more help that GPRM receives, the better for the dogs.

Because that is our focus. The dogs, always.
